



The story of Brasserie om de Dobben
Regina and her partner have been the proud owners of Brasserie om de Dobben in Burgum since 2018. An idyllic spot with a spacious terrace overlooking a nature reserve, where guests can stroll freely, children play in the meadow, and explore the insect hotel.
Hiring staff for the first time
When Regina and her partner started their business, they had no experience in the hospitality industry. So, they reached out to other local hospitality businesses for advice. A brasserie in Leeuwarden was already working with Tentoo and recommended them as a reliable partner for staff payroll. "We were about to hire staff for the first time as a new business. The risk distribution and favorable conversion factor really appealed to us. In my previous job in the hairdressing industry, I had already seen how much risk an employer takes on when employees get sick or go on maternity leave. As an employer, you have to bear those costs and often lose an employee for a long time, which can become quite expensive. That was the main reason, along with the fact that we wouldn’t have to handle payroll administration ourselves."
The benefits
Regina sees the biggest advantages as the convenience of submitting hours just once a week, not having to create contracts herself, and having quick access to relationship manager Menno or the customer service team whenever she has questions.
"If there are any questions, I want to be the first point of contact for our employees. But if I can’t figure it out, I refer them to you, and it always gets sorted. I think you have a really strong team in place now. My questions are always answered quickly. I’m the kind of person who prefers to get an answer yesterday rather than today, so that fast communication fits us perfectly."
The training budget
Several employees at Brasserie om de Dobben have already made use of Tentoo’s training budget.
"With this budget, employees have completed their first aid refresher course, and one of them is about to earn his practical guidance certificate, allowing him to become the point of contact for kitchen interns. Those are valuable things. We also have an employee who wants to specialize in wines, so maybe that will be possible soon as well. We really appreciate that this is fully tailored to our needs."
