Yes, even as a freelancer through Tentoo, you must comply with the DBA Act. We work with you to ensure there is no misclassification as a self-employed individual and advise you on the best payroll option for your situation. Since Tentoo handles wage taxes, ZVW premiums and, in the case of the equal treatment scheme, social security premiums, the risk of additional tax assessments is significantly lower.
If you choose opting-in, you do not pay for social insurance, which means you take home more net income. This option is ideal if you work less than two days a week on average, already have a permanent employer or are performing a short-term assignment. With the equal treatment scheme, we pay social insurance premiums (WW, Ziektewet, and WIA) on your behalf. This provides the security of social coverage and is suitable if you work more than two days per week.
